What is the UK Green Deal?
From the Autumn of 2012 the UK Government aim to introduce legislation to make it possible for millions of homes and businesses to have energy efficiency measures, such as: cavity wall insulation, loft / roof insulation, solid wall insulation, condensing boilers, energy efficient glazing / doors, floor insulation, solar panels, photovoltaic PV panels, electric storage heaters, ground souce heat pumps and wind turbines, amongst other, installed through a national Green Deal Scheme all at NO UP FRONT COST to you (to be confirmed). The Green Deal Assessor plays a vital role in the Green Deal scheme
Step 1 of the Green Deal Scheme:
Instruct a Green Deal Assessor
A Green Deal Assessor will perform a Green Deal Assessment on your home or business. Based on you current lifestyle /energy usage the Green Deal Assessor will be able to give you Green Deal Advice and energy efficency recommendations. Green Deal Assessors will then compile a Green Deal Report. The Green Deal Report will form the basis of your Green Deal Plan. Pre-register your interest in the Green Deal , please CLICK HERE
Step 2 of the Green Deal Scheme:
Instruct a Green Deal Provider
Once your Green Deal Plan is in place, and if you wish to continue with the Green Deal, you can approach and instruct a Green Deal Provider. You can choose your own green Deal Provider. You DO NOT have to use your current electricity or gas supplier. Your Green Deal Report is fully portable and so can be given to your chosen Green Deal Provider.
The role of a Green Deal Provider is to give you access to up to approx. £10,000 of Green Deal Finance. Your Green Deal Provider will help you understand how the Green Deal Finance will work for you, how your property will qualify and how the Green Deal Finance will be repaid. Step 3 of the Green Deal Scheme:
Instruct a Green Deal Installer
It is said that once your Green Deal Provider has your Green Deal Finance in place a Green Deal Installer can then be instructed. Your Green Deal Installer will fit your pre-agreed Green Deal energy efficiency recommendations in accordance with your Green Deal Report and Green Deal Plan. Your Green Deal Provider will pay your Green Deal Installer directly, using your Green Deal Finance. Pre-register your interest in the Green Deal - please CLICK HERE
Please note: Only Green Deal Accredited Assessors, Green Deal Accredited Providers and Green Deal Accredited Installers can give Green Deal Advice, Green Deal Finance and Green Deal Installations. All must adhere strictly to the Green Deal Code.
